Robert Dougherty has been a multimedia professional for ten years, making a living from his expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics programs as well as his conventional art skills. Before getting into multimedia he was a builder and designer of trade show and museum exhibits. He was involved with NBMA at its inception and was Vice President of the board in 1993.

Robert has created original illustrations and interface designs for children’s software plus has art directed and story-boarded CD-ROM games. He moved into interface design and production of graphic assets for educational and corporate training CDs and websites, as the industry moved from disk to online delivery.

Robert taught Adobe Photoshop and Storyboarding at the Computer Arts Institute in San Francisco and all levels of Photoshop through the Community Education Program at the College of Marin, Indian Valley Campus in Novato. He taught for five years, until the demands of independent contracting became too great to continue teaching part time.

As an independent contractor, Robert designed and built web pages for corporate clients like Novo Media, Scient, Groundswell and other companies that rose and fell with the dot-com bubble. For the last three years, Robert has worked as a designer and illustrator for DHAP Digital, Inc. in San Francisco, a company that services websites for Fortune 500 companies.

Robert is the current NBMA Board Treasurer and Art SIG leader.
