Creating Music and Animations for the Web
Who: Norman and Sierra Rose
|
| Norman and Sierra Rose will give a presentation on making digital music and animation. They will walk through the process of creating music and art with computer software and then rendering them for digital distribution (CD, DVD). Norman is a composer and an instructor in the CIS Department at Santa Rosa Junior College. Sierra is a graphics artist with a special interest in video sharing between children and their grandparents.
Sierra Rose creates animations with sound in AVI format for the web and conventional video. Norman Rose makes MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) synthesizer files, then coverts them to digital audio for CDs or mp3s for the web. He will be demonstrating the creation of music with the computer, and how these can be integrated with animation. Norman is an instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College, though not in music. Asked about their presentation he said, In my case, what I am expert in is an area I don't teach at the JC. I am a composer, using sequencer and sythesizer, and digital audio software/hardware. I just put out six albums, featured on http://touchthelight.com. My wife is a 2D animator, and my music often ends up in her work as well. So between us, we have a cottage industry in areas for which the CIS department (at SRJC) does not have classes. |
