Both Michael and Chris were panelists at the big DVD event at Autodesk in November. Join us for a great opportunity to share the wealth of expertise of these two DVD-industry pros. They’ve spent the past several years climbing the DVD-learning curve complimenting their previous experience as multimedia developers and video producers. Join us at the March Art SIG to learn about DVD production from start to finish. In this small (max. seating 30), hi-tech setting, it will be easy to pick the experts’ brains as they respond interactively to audience questions, and show examples of their techniques and finished products.

Presenters:

Michael Wanger, principal of Wanger Associates, will discuss the ins and outs of video production and editing for DVD. Michael produces video and interactive media for business, education, and entertainment. He has played an integral part in the development of several CD-ROM and DVD titles and has produced music, documentary, and interactive programs for Grateful Dead Records. Michael’s music programs have appeared on PBS, and he has garnered three Emmy nominations. He was named one of the Top 100 Producers of 2001 by AV Video Multimedia Producer Magazine.

Chris Armbrust, president and founder of Marin Digital, will tell all about encoding, replication, and compatibility issues. He’ll also cover the advantages and disadvantages of various authoring systems. Chris has over twenty-five years experience in research, development and delivery of digital media services. He founded Marin Digital in 1998, and has produced over 600 different DVD titles for clients across diverse industries. Chris is very fluent in sharing his first hand experience in the business of creating DVDs. He is a frequent speaker on DVD production at DVD Pro and has presented at the DVD Association meeting in Washingon, D.C. and at RepliTECH - Europe in Amsterdam. In 2001/2002, Chris also taught a series on DVD Authoring at the Center for Electronic Art in San Francisco.
