CALLING ALL ARTISTS.
You are the designers, painters, animators, drafters, writers, composers, video producers,
and even programmers that are the artists of the NBMA. This Art, Sound & Film SIG
meeting will be used to get to know one another. We will introduce ourselves, show our
work, and talk about what is important to each of us.
Bring samples from your portfolio to show your peers in the NBMA community.
In addition to "real stuff," we will have computers (Mac and PC) with an
Internet connection (via an analog phone line) and CD-ROM, 3" disk, and Zip drives.
We'll have most of the typical software programs loaded on the computers; if you have
unusual requirements, or just want to verify program compatibility, send an e-mail to
one of the SIG leaders.
Because of "demo-demons" there is no guarantee that everything will work, so it
is a good idea to bring hard copy examples of your work as backup.
In the past, the format for the Art SIG has been presentations or demonstrations of
programs and products by Bay Area and national experts. This will continue, but the
real strength of the NBMA is meeting and exchanging ideas with people in our own
community, in the field we are passionate about. We feel the best way to do this is
to have a general "artist" meeting to establish a base. Following that, we can work
together to increase our knowledge about the media (and our careers) in interactive
multimedia.
Please join us at Autodesk on Thursday, April 26. We look forward to meeting you.
