3D animation on the Web:
It's getting smaller, leaner, and better. At this month's
SIG meeting, we'll explore the latest tools from Pulse, a
leading provider of 3D animation on the Web. The San Francisco-based company,
which was honored by Red Herring as one of the Top 50 Private Companies for 2000,
provides rich media solutions for digital content creation for marketing,
e-commerce, service and support, and education.
You will learn how companies from Boeing and Anheuser-Busch, to Mattel and
Electronic Arts are successfully using Pulse technology. Dan Meblin,
Senior Technology Evangelist, will give a full rundown of his company's
latest products and show a number of demos to illustrate the ease and use of
the technology. Kristen Townsend, Pulse's Director of Business Development,
will introduce the company and explain why and how a variety of clients have
used them to take their Web presence to the "next level."
Townsend, who leads such Pulse accounts as Boeing, Microsoft and FAO Schwarz,
has been in the 3D design industry for a number of years, and joined Pulse
from Discreet, where she worked on the 3D Studio Max Product line.
Meblin has been with Pulse since its founding in 1996. Dan was the 3D
Technical Director for Pulse's award winning CD-ROM title Bad Mojo.
In addition, Dan currently teaches 3D modeling at The Center For Electronic Arts,
San Francisco State University, and a number of Pulse-sponsored technology
workshops in and around San Francisco.
