Why use Email Marketing? Where is the line between Email and Spam? What are key ingredients for effective online marketing campaigns? Build your email list, creative content ideas, timing and tools for success! To open the first Big Event of 2004, you will meet the new Board Members, Officers, and NBMA Super Volunteers.

Next, our panelists will lead us on a whirlwind tour that is guaranteed to teach us something new about the potential for email marketing. They will share success stories, mistakes or strategies to avoid and some of the tools available to use for the journey. By popular request, we will attempt to define spam and how to avoid the “spammer” label. After all, we all want people to think Shazam! when they receive our emails and not delete them as spam.

Dan GeigerDan Geiger’s background includes many years of business experience in organizational development, strategic planning, and marketing. He also has executive-level experience in the nonprofit world with specialties including PR, program development, and fundraising. Groundspring.org is a unique nonprofit software company whose mission is to improve the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector by providing affordable communication technology solutions. One of their products is a software tool called EmailNow. Dan knows the in’s and out’s of what works and doesn’t work with email marketing and can speak to the growing potential of this relatively new medium. He will also speak to the essential do’s and don’ts to avoid the dreaded label of “spam.”

Ruth Ann BarrettRuth Ann Barrett has twenty years of high tech marketing experience. After working for well-known companies such as HP, Sun, and Informix, she founded RED Direct, a strategic executive direct marketing company with high tech clients who target non-technical, C-level decision-makers. Her company has pioneered Strategic Executive MarketingŚ an integrated program for establishing and maintaining relationships with executives. Ruth Ann will provide a case study, describe how rental lists are used, refer to response rates and note the impact the new California anti-SPAM law will have on email marketing.

Joshua LeedsJoshua Leeds will provide us with tips and strategies that he has used effectively in email marketing for his own business. He is a composer, music producer, and sound researcher. He is one of few published authorities in the exciting new field of psychoacousticsthe study of the effects of music and sound on the human nervous system. Joshua founded Sound-Remedies, an online educational resource and catalogue of application-specific audio programs, books, and videos.

Approach 2004 with fresh insight about email marketing for you and your clients. And remember, don’t spam_SHAZAM!
