Theres a bright light in the world of video and multimedia production. Its DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) technology. The growing ubiquity of DVD video players, DVD-ROMs, and DVD game consoles is creating new business opportunities for our industry.
Consider these statistics: According to the DVD Demystified Web site last year DVD-Video players were found in over 26.6 million U.S. homes; manufacturers shipped over 45 million DVD-ROM drives in the U.S. and over 90 million worldwide. The DVD Entertainment Group (http://www.dvdinformation.com/highlights/index.html) says that by the end of 2002, DVD-playback devices will be in nearly 50 percent of all U.S. homes.
NBMA has assembled a panel of DVD-industry pros to share the wealth of their expertise with multimedia developers, video producers, buyers and end-users of DVD-products. The panelists are experienced developers of earlier forms of interactive media and have spent the past several years climbing the DVD-learning curve. Join us at Autodesks McInnis Atrium on November 21 to learn about DVD production from start to finish.
The Panelists:
- Gabe Murano, president of DVant Digital, will cover DVD capabilities, applications and authoring systems.
Gabe has specialized in DVD authoring since 1998. His company has won numerous awards for DVD technical achievements. Among his many projects, he has authored a series of multi-language medical training DVDs and a series of training DVDs for Raytheon Systems; both incorporate self-assessment quizzes. Hes currently working on a series of offshore sailing DVDs and a three-volume series of instructional fly-fishing DVDs.
