Three teams, three judges, and a live studio audience. Join us for March Madness of a different sort, when NBMA and North BayCHI team up to present an Interactionary Design Competition.

What’s an Interactionary? It’s a pseudo game show competition in which design teams are given 15 minutes to work on a design problem, on stage, before a live audience. It’s an educational event intended to expose the dynamic intangibles of design-in-progress, and to allow an audience to listen and observe how the teams work. You can read more about Interactionaries at www.uiweb.com.

The competing teams are interaction and UI designers from Autodesk, Aaron Marcus and Associates, and Busse Design.

Our judges are User Experience Consultant and Educator Richard Anderson; Katharine Maxwell, a Human Interface Engineer at Charles Schwab & Co.; and Nicole Lazzaro, President of XEODesign.

Space is limited, so we’re REQUIRING ADVANCE REGISTRATION via Acteva, our online reservation service. The event is free to NBMA, North Bay-CHI, Bay-CHI, and East Bay-CHI members, and $15 for all other attendees (sorry, no discounts for this program).

Come at 6:00 PM for a catered reception. The competition will start at 7:00 PM.

Morgan Kaufmann Publishing is an in-kind sponsor of this event. W’ll raffle off a few of their CHI-related books.
