Three representatives from major North Bay recruiting agencies will discuss the state of the job market today, and offer their perspectives on what hiring managers are looking for in a tough employment market. This will be an opportunity to find out how to use a recruiter most effectively in your job search how you can get their attention to help you get that job.
Panelists:
Glenn Hatfield is the account manager and direct placement technical recruiter for Volt Services Group and was a national account manager and direct placement recruiter for three years with Management Recruiters
International before joining Volt in 1999.
He has recruited in the sports and recreation, medical device, telecommunications, and finance industries, and manages the accounts of ompanies such as Texas Instruments, BioMarin Pharmaceuticals, Alcatel,
Medtronic AVE, and CamelBak.
His involvement in Sonoma County business includes being a board member of a business organization (SCOOPS) and a member of the Economic Research & Development Committee for the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce.
Jennifer Laxton is the founder, president and owner of techs.com, inc. She has been in the industry for 15+ years successfully working with small to large companies helping them fill their critical positions and providing personalized services to meet their needs.
Jennifer Laxton is a native of California, born and raised in the North Bay Area. This, teamed with her strong business savvy may be the reason she has been so successful in this area. She is an entrepreneur and has serviced corporate infrastructures for several years. Laxton has a very strong referral network in the greater San
Francisco Bay Area which includes candidates, consultants, and clients. She specializes in assessing client requirements and creating solutions to increase productivity.
Jennifer Laxton was previously an IT project manager at Computer Assistance, which was acquired by Coopers & Lybrand, and a project manager at Microsoft University.
Carol A. Orme, associate of The Personnel Perspective, specializes in recruitment consulting for the firm. Prior to relocating to the North Bay from the peninsula, Carol spent 13 years in healthcare recruitment and human resources management in California and Pennsylvania. In her current role, she provides strategic direction to business leaders in policy development, staffing patterns, position control, and hiring practices.
She is a member of several school and college advisory boards for curriculum and program development, as well as the Sonoma County Museum Personnel Committee and the Santa Rosa Economic Development Committee. She is a board member of the Sonoma Chapter of Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA) and an active member and committeeperson for Personnel Association of Sonoma County(PASCO).
Carol received her Master's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a BS in Education as well as a BS from Penn State University. She has an interest in business and organizational development and related recruitment and retention issues.

Turn LEFT into Nexus driveway and park in the lot at the BACK of the
