He served as Director of Operations for Stagebill Publications in New York, and as chief editor for Travel Publishing Company, a meetings and convention industry publisher.

Stephen also offers music appraisal services for records, CDs, 45s, posters, photographs, press kits, and other music-related memorabilia. See his Web site at www.musicappraisals.com.

Mike Campos, Advisor,
Mike CamposMike has over twenty-five years in the computer industry and has held marketing and product management positions at IBM, Harris Corporation, and Quantor (now NCR) Corporation.

As an independent Multimedia Consultant, he initiated and helped develop the Electric Power Research Institute’s first award-winning interactive videodisc training project and videodisc archive, both displayed at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Demonstration Laboratory.

His company, SCI, founded in 1990, was awarded U.S. and European patents with EPRI for multimedia hardware development and successfully completed a number of expert system and interactive electronic documentation projects for major clients in the U.S. and Europe. Comprend, as SCI is now known, is now focusing on the development of Interactive White Papers.

Mike previously served three terms on the Board of NBMA, one as Vice President, and founded the Entrepreneur’s Special Interest Group. He will continue to serve as NBMA's SIG Consultant.

Anne Menne, Board Member,
Anne has been an anthropologist, exhibited media artist and exhibition designer for the past 28 years and a documentary film producer and editor for the past 3 years. Involved with NBMA since it began, she volunteered for many years at the front desk and is currently an NBMA Board member and Membership Director. She loves participating in and contributing to this creative community!

Anne invents, develops and produces multimedia research and educational programs for urban and rural, multi-ethnic and international audiences and products for exhibition, instruction, entertainment and public media. These include, in 1977 in Peru, the first multi-media study of the culture of children. A pilot project, it has now expanded into a longitudinal international child, community and human development program that reduces violence by fulfilling the needs that precede it and by healing the trauma that follows it.

Her own fiber art, photography and poetry have been exhibited, as well as research and media presentations for international conferences, including the International Conferences on Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing and the University of Arizona Toward a Science of Consciousness Conferences. Her work has been sponsored by numerous grants, fellowships, and support, including the Smithsonian Institution, Inter-American Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities/California Council for the Humanities, Kiwanis, City of Los Angeles, and over 50 companies, including Adobe, Apple, Avid, Canon, Discreet, Kodak, Macromedia, Microsoft and Sonic. In demand as a public speaker, she has brought her unique teaching programs to both adults and children here and in Latin America.

She is also founder and director of Heart of Anthropology, a nonprofit corporation devoted to anthropology research and education, as well as Secretary of the San Rafael Kiwanis Club and recipient of the Mayor’s Certificate of Appreciation for Meritorious Community Service.

Janet Zagoria, Board Member; Program Director,
Janet has made a living as an artist for the last 30 years, mostly as an independent contractor and small business owner. She has worked in the craft industry, designed and photographed for newspapers, magazines and private clients, and designed and manufactured gift items for the winery industry and has taught Web design at Santa Rosa Junior College. She is now a Web site designer and developer specializing in Web interface design and content development (www.zagdesign.com).

Janet has extensive experience on non-profit boards. Since 1983, she has served consecutive terms as a district elected board member on the Russian River County Water District. She was the main spokesperson in the group who put the original $4.3 million project together.

Janet was NBMA’s Webmaster from 2001-02, NBMA’s president from 2002-04, helped implement a partial redesign of the site and is now working on developing NBMA’s programming.

Other Committee Leaders
Myrna Faulds, Special Projects,
As the principal at BioExpressions, a graphic design business serving the biotech/hi-tech market, Myrna has been involved in all aspects of print and web design — from media buying to CD-ROM development — as well as being directly responsible for coordinating print and web development projects with several Fortune 500 marketing teams. A self-starter with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, Myrna has organized and directed a variety of production teams for projects ranging from print to CD-ROM to web development. She has used those skills to further the professional development of her fellow designers/developers by creating and directing the Job Connections SIG for the NBMA.

Myrna Faulds background includes ten years of design and production experience in print and web development. Myrna studied graphic design production at the University of California, Berkeley Extension, and multimedia/authoring systems, interface design, 3-D animation and graphic design at the College of Marin. She has a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology from San Francisco State University.

Glenn Hummel, NBMA Webmaster,
Glenn HummelGlenn worked for many years in the medical diagnostic field before deciding to focus solely on the artistic path. He has degrees in Creative Writing and Art, with an emphasis in Photography, plus earning a certificate from SFSU’s Multimedia Studies Program. His first foray into Multimedia was to project images and words synchronized to a sound track of his field recordings.

It is a natural progression for Glenn to move to the digital platform. He is currently focusing his attention on Flash because of its potential for design elements and the deep flexibility offered through its scripting language.

Julie Smith, Best of the North Bay Webmaster; Big Event Caterer; Gourmet Crew Leader,
Julie is a Website Developer, designing and building corporate and e-commerce Websites for her company, Polaris Interactive (www.polarisinteractive.com). In other lives, she worked as a graphic designer, owned and operated a home textiles manufacturing operation, and had her own business as a Contract Interior Designer with projects in the Midwest, Florida and Ecuador.

Julie has been an active member of the North Bay Multimedia Association since 1997. She designed, built, and maintains the “Best of the North Bay” Web site.

A lover of cooking and good food, Julie gets her kicks in the kitchen monthly when she prepares the food for NBMA General Meetings.

Marc Tanenbaum, ActionScript Salon Leader,
Marc believes strongly in the ‘multi’ side of the multimedia equation. He couples expert Flash/Actionscript coding skills with abilities in design, writing, film-making, photography and editing. Through sfmultimedia, his independent website firm, he’s developed dozens of websites, presentations and games, and played key creative roles in several short-subject films.

As much as he enjoys creating, Marc is equally eager to teach and share his expertise with others. He began doing this while still learning Flash: before the end of his first semester, he became de facto teaching assistant, helping his fellow students understanding the ways of Actionscript. Since then, he has taught Actionscript to hundreds of students through the classroom, the web forum he moderates, and through private tutelage.

With NBMA for three years, Marc worked first as Web SIG leader, and later as head of the Actionscript Salon (working the two simultaneously for almost a year). Through the Salon, Marc charts the sometimes treacherous waters of Actionscript by delving into it one aspect at a time, drawing parallels between these aspects whenever possible.

Michael Wanger, Special Projects,
Award winning film, video and multimedia producer, Michael Wanger, specializes in programs for business, education and entertainment. He has produced medical education programs, training and marketing videos for corporations such as Memorex, Wells Fargo Bank and Silicon Graphics, and played an integral part in the development of several CD-ROM and DVD titles.

Michael’s music programs appear frequently on PBS, and he has garnered three Emmy nominations. He has produced music, documentary and interactive programs for Grateful Dead Records and is a speaker and moderator for industry conferences. Michael was named by AV Video Multimedia Producers magazine as one of the Top 100 Producers of 2001.
