NBMA respects the privacy of members and non-members who access our Directory and Web site.
NBMAs Web server automatically
recognizes only the visitors domain name, not the specific user name.
All personal information collected through
the Web site is provided on a voluntary basis.
One of the main objectives of NBMA's
Web site, however, is to encourage networking and participation in interactive events by NBMA members and site visitors.
To support this networking and interaction, NBMA may:
- require that visitors provide information to access certain areas of its Web site. This information may include name, email and postal addresses, phone numbers, and other demographic information. Areas of our Web site requiring this information generally include any interactive area, surveys, on-site registrations, and applications. isitors provide this information on a voluntary basis to gain access to these areas.
- collect aggregate information on which pages visitors access as they use our site, as well as the email addresses with visitors who correspond with us directly from the Web site.
Information about members collected through the Membership Application will be stored in the general NBMA Membership Directory database.
If you are a member of NBMA and
- wish to be included in the NBMA Resource and Gallery Directory, a searchable database, please send an email to
requesting the appropriate application. All work submitted for acceptance into the Gallery will be reviewed for approval.
- do not wish to be included in the NBMA Membership Directory database, please send an email to
indicating that you do not want to be included.
NBMA does not
- collect any information through the Web site without the knowledge of the Web site visitor.
- collect any information, via cookies or other tracking means, of a personal nature from visitors.
- sell its membership mailing list or make our membership list available to other organizations.
- provide any of the email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information that it collects on its Web site (except through the interactive membership application) to any other individual or organization for any purpose.
- allow any company offering products or services to use the NBMA name (such as credit card companies) to offer their products or services.
NBMA does
- under special conditions make our SIG and Main Meeting attendee list available to guest speakers and presenters.
- use email or postal addresses for notifying members and guests requesting notification about upcoming events, new additions to the NBMA Web site, or other products and services offered by NBMA.
NBMA uses the information we collect to
- improve the content of our Web site; to enhance existing products, services, and member benefits; and to plan for new products, services, and member benefits.
- contact you via telephone, if you provide your telephone or fax number, regarding any questions about membership applications, Main Meeting, SIG or conference registrations.

NBMA uses the aggregate data we collect to
- perform statistical analysis of the collective characteristics and behavior of our members and visitors, to measure overall customer demographics, and to analyze how and where to use our resources.
NBMA does not use the aggregate data we collect to
- inform our advertisers and sponsors with an aggregate customer profile of who is visiting the Web site, and the number of customers who have seen and clicked on their advertisements.
NBMA adheres to The Operating Regulation of Non-Disclosure of Financial
Transaction Information:
The new rules prohibit the sales or disclosure of databases containing
cardholder account numbers, personal information, or other financial
transaction information to third parties as an asset of a failed business.
In these cases, the rules further require that all financial transaction
information be returned to the acquirer (North Bay Multimedia Association)
or acceptable proof of destruction of this data be provided.
